Sony’s new TV can give two pictures to two viewers

Sony has recently announced the development of a technology called dual-view, which allows two different viewers to see two different images.

I suppose that this could be used for when two different viewers want to watch two different shows, but they will have to wear headphones so they don’t hear each each others’ audio.

It would appear that Sony wants to market this for gamers. So if two people are playing a game with a split screen, the screen would not have to split.

At a recent press conference, where Sony showed off this technology, the company warned that “this will make your eyes hurt”. Clearly, some more development is required. Until then, the results are like 3D.

Skype for the iPhone is going to work on TVs, too

Normally, when I report on Skype, I usually am doing that on mobilewhack. However, a recent announcement from the VoIP company has stated that the iPhone App will be working with Skype-enabled TVs.

So, if you have a Skype-enabled TV (which probably isn’t many users), you will have that option of using Skype video chats. That is a good decision for Skype, as it will be coming to Android and possibly Windows Phone 7.

If you don’t have Skype for your iPhone as yet, all you need to do is head over to the iTunes App Store and get it.

Sony Expands BRAVIA Lineup with 3 New HDTVs

Sony has just come forth to announce three new additions to their BRAVIA HDTV line up including the 22-inch KDL-22EX42H, the 32-inch KDL-32EX42H and the 40-inch KDL-40EX52H. The 40-incher features an LED edge-lit display with 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution, 2 TV tuners, 3 HDMI ports, an ethernet port  and a price tag of $1,800. The 22-incher and the 32-incher both both feature a 720p HD resolution and will run $1,100 and $1,340, respectively.

Another interesting feature is that each of these televisions feature a built-in 500GB hard drive that will allow you to transfer content to and from external harddrives thanks to a built-in USB port.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on when these will be coming to North America as they are only listed with a March 20th Japanese release date.

Toshiba Debuts Dual-Core Z2 LED HDTVs & Regza Android App – Exclusive Initially to Japan

There is a constant war going on between the industry’s various hardware manufacturers to get the most high end, technologically advanced products onto the market between their competitors.  From this war we’ve seen over the top creations like Panasonic’s 103-inch 3D Plasma TV priced at a mind numbing $100,000. With a price tag like that, it’s quite obviously assumed that many consumers won’t be able to afford such a thing. Luckily, Toshiba has just come forth today to announce a line up of televisions that won’t cost $100,00 but will include a dual-core processor dubbed the CEVO Engine. Thanks to this chip, Toshiba’s Z2 series of LED HDTVs will be capable or reducing input lag while in ‘Game Mode’ to just 0.7 frames – just to give you a glimpse of its power.

Additionally, Toshiba has also taken the time to announce that the current iOS exclusive Regza app will be making its way to Google’s Android mobile platform along with Microsoft’s Windows. Unfortunately, at this time, the app is still only available in Japan so we’ll have to keep you posted on that front.

As for a release date for the dual-core powered Toshiba Z2 series, those will be shipping later this month – also exclusive to Japan.

Buying a Big Flat Screen LCD Will Put a Smile on Your Face & Make You Proud

My wife and I saw something hilarious the other day: The proud new owner of an LCD Flat Screen HDTV, courtesy of Walmart. What is so funny about that? Let me explain.

If you have ever purchased an large Flat Screen TV, then you probably know how huge the boxes are that they come in. Those things are HUGE!  Well, as my wife and I walked into the front door at our local Walmart to do some shopping, there was a guy walking out, that apparently just bought his first LCD big screen tv.

He was pushing a buggy with a massive 50? LCD TV box hanging off the front like a huge sailing mast. As he walked, he had a smile that stretched from ear to ear, turning ever so often to look to his left….and then his right….seeing how many people were watching him. You could feel the sense of pride and excitement radiating off of him. As if he had been handed an award for finding the cure to cancer or something.

As he waltzed out the door pushing his massive treasure, I could literally FEEL his thoughts, as if he were saying, “That’s right, this baby belongs to me…”

It was so funny, that  my wife and both turned and looked at each other at the same time, bursting out in a quiet laughter. As soon as we got around the corner, we were both like, “Did you see the look on that guy’s face.”

No joke, he looked so proud and happy as he walked out of that store. I told my family about it (doing a full blown imitation of course, and they all laughed). I wish I had a camera with me to capture the look on his face…

Hey, perhaps he read my article on how to afford a big screen tv, a nd that is how he bought it??? You never know.

Review of Dynex-24″ Flat LCD HDTV Model DX-L24-10A from BestBuy. Is it a Good TV?

The Dynex 24? Flat LCD HDTV from Bestbuy is a nice tv with decent specs. I happen to like the Dynex brand, and I own (and reviewed) the 32? Dynex LCD HDTV model. I really like their quality. So if you are wondering if Dynex is a good brand, the answer is YES. But anyway, let us focus on this 24? television they have.

First, this TV generally receives a good rating on BestBuy.com’s website. It seems the majority of people rate it 4-5 stars. So that is good news. In my experience, these ratings tend to be accurate.

Summary of the Pros: This TV has a great picture, sleek look, reasonable price (look for sales), and very decent specifications for a TV this size.

Summary of the Cons: Some people don’t like the sound output, but I think it is reasonable for a TV this size. Some people had issues with constantly having to reset certain picture size each time they turned the tv on and off, but this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I personally don’t like TV’s this small, but it would work for a small bedroom, kitchen, or other lounge area.

I will include the full specs of this HDTV below, but this area will include my summary and quick review of the product. First, Dynex does make great quality LCD tv’s, very much comparable to a brand such as Samsung.

This TV has a very nice sleek black look, which I love on the Dynex televisions. I think it gives them a very clean and expensive appearance.

The picture on this Dynex TV is very sharp, as are most Dynex TV’s. It has 720p, which is good for this sized tv, and a 60 Hz  screen refresh rate as well. Bottom line, the picture quality on this TV is very good. Perhaps not the best made, but very nice for the price.

The speakers are not very loud, but what do you expect on a small TV? Dynex does have better sound systems with their larger TV’s (I know mine will really pump the sound out).

It has the built in HDTV tuner, so that is cool that you can pick up any HDTV signals…just attach an antenna, and you are good to go. This TV also has ample inputs for your HDMI, A/V, and all of those fancy connection types. This should satisfy the average consumer (or even the slightly advanced ones).

The specifications and features for this LCD HDTV are listed below:

This HDTV features wide 176° horizontal and vertical viewing angles and a clear 1366 x 768 resolution for a cinema-style viewing experience. The 6.5 ms response time helps ensure smooth picture transitions during fast-action scenes. This is a nice feature that most Dynex TV’s have.

Dynex® 24? Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTVTabletop tilting stand (That is nice so you can adjust the viewing angle)Remote with 2 AAA batteries (I really like Dynex remotes too)Owner’s manualMassive Box (have fun lugging that thing around)24? screen measured diagonally from corner to corner
This is a small screen size, and I would only recommend this for a bedroom or spare room. If you want this in your living room, then I would defnitely get at least a 32?. But this size would be okay if you don’t mind the smallness.1366 x 768 resolution
Supports 720p signals for stunning image clarity, and Dynex TV’s do have very good clarity! That is a fact.Built-in HDTV tuner
Add HD-capable antenna to receive over-the-air high-definition broadcasts, where available. Optional set-top box required for high-definition cable or satellite programming. I hooked mine up to a simple RCA “rabbit ears” antenna. It gets several channels and even some HDTV ones…FREE (and legally).ENERGY STAR qualified
Designed to use less energy and meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy. This helps save on the old electric bill. LCD generally tend to use less energy than CRT Tv’s.2 HDMI inputs
Provide an uncompressed all-digital audio/video link for the highest quality connection, and they support copy-protected HD broadcast content. Just don’t buy the HDMI cables at retail price–those things are pricey! Ebay those…PC video input
Lets you connect your computer to experience high-resolution images. This is nice, since this TV is comparable to most PC screens anyway.Built-in Ethernet port
Lets you connect your TV to your home network. This is awesome.Inputs
Include 2 composite (1 side, 1 rear), 1 S-video (rear), 1 component video (rear), 2 HDMI (1 side, 1 rear), 1 PC (rear) and 1 RF (rear).Outputs
Include 1 audio (rear), 1 optical digital audio (rear) and 1 headphone (side).16:9 widescreen aspect ratio
Delivers a cinema-style entertainment experience.3:2 pulldown
For accurate reproduction of film-based sources.Incredible contrast ratio (3000:1) and high brightness (320 cd/m²)
Along with a 6.5 ms refresh rate for an arresting viewing experience.Wide 176° horizontal and vertical viewing angles
Make every seat the best in the house.3D Y/C digital comb filter
Delivers state-of-the-art detail and color enhancement.Ultraslim design (3-1/2? deep)
Ideal for wall mounting (with optional mounting kit, not included). VESA compatible. Personally, I prefer to use the stands rather than mount, but hey, you can mount if you want. Two 3W stereo speakers
With sound leveler for a lush soundscape. Not a very robust sound system, but reasonable for the TV size.V-Chip parental controls
Give you the option of blocking undesirable material that you don’t want your kids to see.Handy additional features
Include quadrilingual (English, French, Spanish and Mandarin) on-screen menus, closed captioning and sleep timer.

This is an overall good tv. Dynex is a good reliable brand, with great picture quality. This particular model is small, and I would only use it in a small room, kitchen, or extra area. I wouldn’t use it as my main TV.

The speakers aren’t great, but are OKAY. It has excellent specs and features for a TV of this size. So is it a good tv? Yes. I would personally look for a good sale (or use some of my methods to afford an LCD TV), and only use it for a spare room. But yes, this has very good specs, good ratings, and would be worth the investment.

Review of BestBuy’s Dynex-32″ Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV-DX-32L130A10

As my wife and I pondered our Christmas wish list this year, we made a bold decision: We would purchase a new LCD tv to replace our tiny (and yet bulky) 19? CRT monitor tv (because obviously CRT’s are going extinct). It would be the perfect Christmas present to each other, and since we just purchased our first home, it would be the perfect (and much needed) gift!

So I started my usual exhaustive research online for the best type of tv to buy. I eventually realized that LCD was much better than Plasma on so many levels. So LCD it was! I then learned that you want certain features, and I had certain features in mind as well: Plenty of input jacks, great adjustability, great specs, great audio sound, clear and crisp picture, low price, and decent brand!

We also had a hard time deciding on the size (42, 32, 40, or 37?). But we made the decision to get a 32? to fit in our bedroom. After some extensive research on price and features, we found a Dynex 32? LCD HDTV at Bestbuy for only $299.99.

The deal seemed great, but was it? Was the TV worth it? Is Dynex a Good LCD TV? Let’s find out:

First, I went to Bestbuy’s local retail store to look at them in person. I was extremely impressed. The Dynex’s screen was comparable, if not better, than the Samsung, Sony, and other big names. The price was about $100 or so cheaper than other tv’s of the same size. So right off the bat, I am thinking…”Better picture, better price, great reviews…sold!”

I went ahead and purchased the TV off the Bestbuy.com website because they had a free shipping offer! I said, “why not.” That way I didn’t have to get haggled to buy this and that (as you know they do). They did have a few of the 32? dynex tv’s to choose from, but the model I wanted was sold out in the store anyway and only available online. The main difference seemed to be the TV case. On mine, the case was a little larger (which gave the illusion the tv was larger than 32?). It also  had a different LED light display at the bottom (just 1, while the other had more lights).

After ordering it online, it took Bestbuy about 5 days to actually ship it. They shipped it via UPS, and that took about 3 more days. So I had my LCD TV about 8 days after purchase, which isn’t too shabby around Christmas time for free shipping.

It came in the regular Dynex box shipped. I got the TV in the room, and opened the box.  I first inspected to ensure there was no damage during shipping, and it looked great. One thing I love is that it  has a really glossy black case and stand, which looks so sleek and nice sitting in my bedroom. I LOVE the sleekness of this LCD TV! I set this on my dresser at the foot of my bed, so my wife and I can watch tv and play the xbox 360 with comfort. Also, I didn’t mount this either (although you can if you want). The stand it comes with is very sturdy. I  was worried that the TV might fall off my dresser if it was bumped and then break, but not so. The stand makes this thing stand firm, and I even bumped my dresser on purpose to check, and it barely budges.

The hookup was a breeze! I had it up and running in minutes. It has plenty of jacks on the back and side. It has HDMI, A/V, VGA (to hook a pc), standard cable, etc. More than enough for the average person, and far better than my old tv which only had 1 cable jack and 1 yellow/white a/v input! I just plugged in the power cord, plugged in my cables from my xbox, etc. and powered on the tv. It was ready to go after a quick setup menu. It has full instructions with it so you can do all of this easily.

The tv has a built in digital tuner, so you can hook it up to an antenna and get free digital broadcast without the need of a converter box. This works great too, but I am going to get a larger antenna and  mount that outside for a stronger signal and more channels.

It came with a nice looking silver remote, with very easy to read buttons. It wasn’t very hard to figure out how to change input modes via the remote. It is quite easy to change, for example, from your xbox signal to your pc input. It also has controls on the side of the TV if you ever break your remote or are near the tv, which is handy. Not only that, but the screen is fully adjustable to widescreen, zoom, cinema style, etc., so you can adjust the screen to fit the DVD or video game as you want. Okay, so how does the TV perform? AMAZINGLY!

As far as the Dynex brand, it is relatively new. I had purchased a Dynex router from Bestbuy about 4 years ago, and it still works fine today. So I knew the Dynex brand wasn’t terrible, but I didn’t know about their Tv’s since it is a “generic” brand.

I had already seen a great picture on this tv in the store, and it had great reviews on the site. So I  hooked it up eager to see what it may look like in my room! My wife and I were blown away! I put in Halo 3 on the xbox, and I couldn’t believe both the picture and sound! The picture was so crisp, clear, and colorful—and get this—I have an arcade 360 which means it doesn’t even have the high def. cable! This quality is amazing with simply a standard a/v input! I can just  imagine with HDMI, or high def cables! I seen things on Halo I never saw on my older 19 inch crt television. And I can finally tell how many grenades I had.

The sound was so loud and deep, I had to turn it down almost immediately. I figured it must have been all the way up, but not even close! At about 25%-30% volume, this thing is LOUD, and I could barely hear my wife talking to me while playing Halo (which is bad because she plays on my team hehe). I can’t imagine full volume on this thing. It would be comparable to a low end surround sound system. But the Halo “chant” at the game intro sounded awesome on this tv, as did the other sound effects. AHHH AHHH OOOOHHH AHHHH…(Halo gamers know what I mean).

As it was being shipped, I had wondered if perhaps I should have went with the 40? for $200 more, but once I plugged this up, I knew I made the right choice. Not only did I save $200 bucks by going with the 32?, but it is just the right size. If it were larger, it would be a little too much for a bedroom. If it were smaller, I would have wanted larger. But it is JUST RIGHT. It is an amazing experience playing the xbox, watching movies, and so forth on this TV. It would also be  nice for a living room, but I think I would go with at least 40 in there.

I would absolutely buy this TV again, and I would recommend it to anyone. It is the perfect size for about any room really. I use it for gaming, movies, TV, and so forth, and it exceeds my needs and expectations.

This TV has great features, exceptional screen quality, tremendous sound, low price, and looks sleek! It has great reviews on the Bestbuy site, and I can see why.

In fact, I can’t wait until next year. My wife and I are already seriously thinking of getting a 40? Dynex for the  living room area.

The only question left is, “how long will the TV last?” Unfortunately I will have to find that out from experience. I have only had this thing about 1 month now. It may last 5 years, it may last 20.  But I reason like this: It was only $299.99. If it broke down soon, it would be covered under warranty. If it lasted even 4 years, I don’t think I would complain too much. By that time, they will probably be better, cheaper, and bigger anyway. But it may well last many more years. Time will tell. But for $299.99, you can’t really go wrong either way. It can always be repaired, or scraped for some money, so I am not worried at all. I stand confident in my Dynex TV, and you should too!

As I mentioned in another post, Vizio has just announced the release of their “Internet Apps LCD HDTV” Series. Out of all of the Vizio LCD Internet Apps line, this 55? monster is by far the best of them all. Not only is it the largest, but it also boasts LED LCD technology, Internet apps capability, wifi, and so much more. This is truly a masterpiece from Vizio, and is sure to please any who can afford its nearly $2,000 price tag. It is on Amazon.com for this price (model number may vary).

Vizio Internet Apps

This TV is amazing, and wins in everything from it’s sleek appearance, to it’s massive screen size, to its internet wifi capabilities. If you are considering this LED LCD TV, or find a bargain, this will no doubt leave you a happy camper.

Vizio 55? LCD HDTV Appearance– The TV itself has a very attractive design. It features a glossy black shell finish. It also has the speakers located in a great place. This is a good design, because it projects the sound forward towards you.

It comes with an AWESOME looking bluetooth remote, with a slide out keyboard. This looks very high-tech and sleek, and would look sexy in anyone’s living room or bedroom.

So right off the bat, I like the way this TV looks. It would look perfect in any bedroom, den, living room, etc., even if you never turned it on!

Review for Dynex 19″ LCD HDTV Model DX-L19-10A at Bestbuy

The Dynex 19? Flat LCD HDTV from Bestbuy is a nice tv with decent specs. I happen to like the Dynex brand, and I own (and reviewed) the 32? Dynex LCD HDTV model. I really like their quality. So if you are wondering if Dynex is a good brand, the answer is YES. But anyway, let us focus on this 19? television they have.

First, this TV generally receives a good rating on BestBuy.com’s website. It seems the majority of people rate it 4-5 stars. So that is good news. In my experience, these ratings tend to be accurate. The rating the last time I checked was around 4.2. So that is very good.

I wouldn’t buy this TV at full retail price, period. Don’t get me wrong, this is a pretty good 19 inch tv. But at the regular retail price, it isn’t a very good buy. You can usually shell out about $20-50 more and get a much larger screen. So unless you want this specific TV, I would maybe consider going for the Dynex 24“, or even better, the 32? Dynex.

Summary of the Pros: This TV has a great picture, sleek look,  and very decent specifications for a TV this size.

Summary of the Cons: Most people complained about the sound output, but I think it is reasonable for a TV this size. Most small TV’s of this size do not have loud sound. Some people had issues with constantly having to reset or adjust the color contrast, but were able to finally get a great picture.

But if you get anything below a 32? LCD HDTV, expect that the sound isn’t going to blow you away.

Add HD-capable antenna to receive over-the-air high-definition broadcasts, where available. Optional set-top box required for high-definition cable or satellite programming. I use this feature all the time. Just hook any rabbit ears or antenna in, and off you go with FREE HDTV signals…18-1/2? screen measured diagonally from corner to corner

Include 2 composite (1 side, 1 rear), 1 S-video (rear), 1 component video (rear), 1 HDMI (rear), 1 PC (rear) and 1 RF (rear).Outputs
Include 1 headphone.V-Chip parental controls
Give you the option of blocking undesirable material that you don’t want your kids to see.ENERGY STAR qualified
Designed to use less energy and meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy. This helps save on the old electric bill. LCD generally tend to use less energy than CRT Tv’sHandy additional features
Include trilingual menu options (English, French and Spanish) closed captioning, sleep timer, auto zoom and channel labeling

This is an overall good tv, but probably isn’t going to be a smart purchase if you pay the full retail price. Dynex is a good reliable brand, with great picture quality. This particular model is small, and I would only use it in a small room, kitchen, or extra area. I wouldn’t use it as my main TV. If you can find a good sale, and want this for a spare room, get this TV. Just understand that the speakers are going to blow you away.

So is it a good tv? Yes. I would personally look for a good sale (or use some of my methods to afford an LCD TV), and only use it for a spare room. But yes, this has very good specs, good ratings, and would be worth the investment if, and only if, you want a tv this size, and are willing to have speakers that are mediocre.

Review for Dynex 22″ LCD HDTV Model DX-LDVD22-10A DVD Combo at BestBuy

The Dynex 22? Flat LCD HDTV DVD combo from Bestbuy is a nice tv with decent specs. I happen to like the Dynex brand, and I own (and reviewed) the 32? Dynex LCD HDTV model. I really like their quality. So if you are wondering if Dynex is a good brand, the answer is YES. But anyway, let us focus on this 22? television they have.

First, this TV generally receives a good rating on BestBuy.com’s website. It seems the majority of people rate it 3-4 stars. So that is good news. In my experience, these ratings tend to be accurate. It usually stay stead at around 4 stars. In my honest opinion, I would only buy this particular model if you can find a great sale on Bestbuy.com (or another site). If you have to pay the full retail price, go for a slightly larger model. Otherwise, this is a very good TV if you have your mind set on this particular model.

Summary of the Pros: This TV has a great picture, sleek look, convenient DVD player built-in, reasonable price (if you look for sales), and very decent specifications for a TV this size.

Summary of the Cons: Some people don’t like the sound output, but I think that can be expected for a TV this size. Some people had issues with constantly having to reset certain picture size each time they turned the tv on and off, but this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Some people didn’t like picture sizing options, but that shouldn’t be too much of a big deal. the I personally don’t like TV’s this small, but it would work for a small bedroom, kitchen, or other lounge area.

I will include the full specs of this HDTV below, but this area will include my summary and quick review of the product. First, Dynex does make great quality LCD tv’s, very much comparable to a brand such as Samsung.

The speakers are not very loud, but what do you expect on a small TV? Dynex does have better sound systems with their larger TV’s (I know mine will really pump the sound out).

Another thing, this does have a built in DVD player, which could be good or bad. It could be good if you don’t have a DVD player and like the built-in ones. Personally, I don’t like this feature. It makes the TV’s costs higher, and I usually already have a DVD player (and if not, they are cheap). Also, if the DVD player ever tore up, then you have a big problem…

It has the built in HDTV tuner, so that is cool that you can pick up any HDTV signals…just attach an antenna, and you are good to go. This is an overall good Flat Screen LCD HDTV, but ONLY if you get a great sale. If you have to pay full price, I would edge up to maybe their 24? model, or even better the 32? Dynex model.  Dynex is a good reliable brand, with great picture quality. This particular model is small, and I would only use it in a small room, kitchen, or extra area. I wouldn’t use it as my main TV. The DVD player can be a pro or con depending on how you look at it.

As I mentioned in another post, Vizio has just announced the release of their “Internet Apps LCD HDTV” Series. These TV’s are amazing, and I wanted to review this Vizio 42? LCD HDTV below. This product can be bought at Amazon.com for this price (model number may vary).

vizio black 42 inch tv

I want to cover all aspects of this TV in this review: Appearance and features/functionality. For a quick summary, this is a very nice TV with robust features, an attractive design, and excellent functionality. Let me explain:

Vizio 42? LCD HDTV Appearance– The TV itself has a very attractive design. It features a glossy black shell finish, with the speaker rack at the bottom (front). This is a good design, because it projects the sound forward towards you (as opposed to LCD TV’s that have the speakers on the back or side).

Vizio 42? LCD HDTV Features– Vizio sure didn’t go “cheap” with the features of this tv. If you are looking for robust features, great connections, and newer technology, then this is your TV. Here is a list of the features of the Vizio SV422XVT:

This LCD HDTV by Vizio is LOADED with features, including the exciting new “internet app” feature. I am so excited about this new technology, that I am considering buying one of these new models (either the 42, 55, or 47 inch), within the next year or so. I would buy one of these now if I didn’t just by my 32? Dynex LCD HDTV! Oh well, I still like my Dynex too.

The price tag is affordable & reasonable, starting at $949.99 for this model (when released on February 15th, 2010). I am sure prices will come down after a while, and you can probably find ways to afford this TV if you follow my tips. In any event, this is very exciting from Vizio!

Review for Dynex 26″ LCD HDTV Model DX-L26-10A at Bestbuy. Good TV or Not?

The Dynex 26? Flat LCD HDTV from Bestbuy is a nice tv with decent specs. I happen to like the Dynex brand, and I own (and reviewed) the 32? Dynex LCD HDTV model. I really like their quality. So if you are wondering if Dynex is a good brand, the answer is YES. But anyway, let us focus on this 26? television they have.

First, this TV generally receives a good rating on BestBuy.com’s website. It seems the majority of people rate it 4-5 stars. So that is good news. In my experience, these ratings tend to be accurate. This TV has an average overall of around 4 stars. Not bad at all.

Summary of the Pros: This TV has a great picture, sleek look, reasonable price (look for sales), and very decent specifications for a TV this size. This is a decent size which could be used for a small or medium sized room (or even a living room possibly).

Summary of the Cons: Some people don’t like the sound output, but I think it is good (not like surround sound good, but decent sound). Some people didn’t like the remote buttons (small issue), and didn’t like the options for adjusting the screen (they thought it was complicating), but this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

I also happen to like the stands that come with these Dynex Tv’s. My stand really holds the TV sturdy, which I really like.

This HDTV features many great inputs, so  you can hook up your HDMI, A/V and so forth. It also has a very crisp picture, moderate sound, and a built in HDTV tuner so you can pick up your favorite HDTV signals…free!

Add HD-capable antenna to receive over-the-air high-definition broadcasts, where available. Optional set-top box required for high-definition cable or satellite programming. I love this feature on my 32?, and it does a good job at picking up the HDTV stations. You will need an antenna to do this (not included).26? screen

This is an overall very good tv. Dynex is a good reliable brand, with great picture quality. I am a little reserved about the price. I got the 32? for 299.99 on sale in December of 2009, and this one is just $20 cheaper than that for roughly 6 inches less of “bang”. So unless you get a real bargain, I would probably spring the extra few dollars and go for the $32 for sure. This TV is far better, however, than the much smaller 19? LCD or 24? Dynex models.

The speakers aren’t great, but are OKAY. It has excellent specs and features for a TV of this size. So is it a good tv? Yes. I would personally look for a good sale (or use some of my methods to afford an LCD TV), otherwise you can get a bit of larger screen for just a few more dollars. But yes, this has very good specs, good ratings, and would be worth the investment.

Vizio Internet Apps TV Introduction: Wifi Wireless Internet TV & Browser with Apps

Wow, I was blown away as I just got word of Vizio’s Brand New Internet Apps TV line. This line is AMAZING, and the introductory price tags aren’t too shabby either! I first heard about the introduction of these internet enabled TV’s last night during SuperBowl 2010 commercials. Amazon.com is also featuring 3 models of the Vizio Internet App LCD HDTV for sale. What Are Vizio Internet App LCD HDTV’s? Are They Worth It?

Vizio Internet Apps

I think at this point in time it is pretty obvious that internet and TV’s are merging (many already have). Other LCD and HDTV companies are going toward this trend, but Vizio is one of the one’s really pushing this, especially the “Apps” idea, which is very cool.

Essentially, these newest models by Vizio have wifi wireless internet capabilities (which is great so you don’t have 50 cords going everywhere). You will be able to surf the web in a similar fashion like you do on your laptop.  Stream movies, shows, and much more. Heck, forget about getting a Netflix ready device!  Also, there are expected to be “apps”, which means there will lots of great widgets being developed that can help you find programs, and so much more. Television is changing! They also have a very cool remote control that has a slide-out keyboard with Bluetooth.

They have offered 3 LCD Internet App TV’s below: Click each one to read an in-depth review and see the features of each one.

1. VIZIO VF552XVT 55-Inch Class XVT Series TRULED 240Hz sps LED LCD VIZIO Internet Apps HDTV
Vizio
. The starting price for this one is $1,999.99. Certainly not cheap, but not terribly priced. I am sure the prices will come down over time. This is the introductory prices as of February 2010. Also, check out my other article if you need some ideas on how to afford an LCD HDTV.

2. VIZIO SV422XVT 42-Inch Class XVT Series 240Hz sps LCD VIZIO Internet Apps HDTV. This one runs $949.99 for the introductory price–certainly affordable, and not priced much more than their competitors without the internet app technology.

3. VIZIO SV472XVT 47-Inch Class XVT Series TRULED 240Hz sps LED LCD VIZIO Internet Apps HDTV.  This mid-sized model runs $1,549.99 for its introductory price. Again, these are all very exiciting, and the prices are not terrible. I am sure you can find some deals soon, and these will be coming down in price.

I must say, I was really excited to hear about this, as I can’t wait for ALL HDTV’s to embrace the internet. I can’t wait to surf from bed on a huge flat screen LCD HDTV! How fun will that be.

Granted, you can certainly do something similar now (by hooking up your PC to it and using it as a second monitor), but this usually involves extra cables, or extra accessories. I am excited about the complete integration from the factory! In fact, I am almost tempted to upgrade my Dynex 32? LCD HDTV here within the next year or so. Hmm, or perhaps I will wait about 3-4 years.

Review of VIZIO SV472XVT 47-Inch LED LCD VIZIO Internet Apps HDTV Class XVT Series TRULED 240Hz sps

As I mentioned in another post, Vizio has just announced the release of their “Internet Apps LCD HDTV” Series. Out of all of the Vizio LCD Internet Apps line, this 47? monster is the mid-sized offering. Not that a 47? is exactly mid-size (let’s face it, that is still a huge TV), but it also boasts LED LCD technology, Internet apps capability, wifi, and so much more. This is truly a masterpiece from Vizio, and is sure to please any who can afford its nearly $1,500 price tag. Check out Amazon.com for Internet app TVs by Vizio for  these  prices.
